Weekend

グローバル海陽ウイークエンド

Once a year, we hold an English Day, a day camp for elementary, junior high and high school students. Run by our team, our staff is supported by visiting Assistant Language Teachers (ALTs) from all around Tokushima Prefecture.

In the morning, students are divided into groups for the day and spend time getting to know each other and their group’s ALT. They then play English games in their groups and make crafts together. Lunch is also eaten in groups, and students get the opportunity to order their food in English!

After, students and teachers participate in cross-cultural activities together, like trying Japanese calligraphy, decorating cookies, or playing games, such as a scavenger hunt where students can learn about ALTs’ hometowns.

In the evening, junior high school and high school students eat dinner with the ALTs, watch presentations from high school students who have studied abroad, and enjoy free conversation and hang-out time with native English speakers and friends.
