I went to see fireflies! |「海陽で行ってみた！」蛍探し編

野江の母川で夜になると蛍が見られると聞いたので、見に行ってきたよー
この橋に蛍の像があるから、もしかしたらこの辺にいるということかな？

I heard that at night you can see fireflies near the Hahagawa River in Noe, so I went to check it out!
There’s a firefly statue on the bridge, so maybe they’re around here?
例年はほたる祭りがあり、蛍を間近で見ることができる高瀬舟に乗れるはずだったけど、残念ながら今年はなかったようだね。
I heard that there is usually the annual Hotaru Matsuri (Firefly Festival) and a nightly boat ride you can take to see the fireflies up close, but unfortunately not this year.
夜の撮影はちょっと難しいんだけど、頑張って写真を撮ってみた！電球が浮いているように見えるよねー
It’s a bit hard to take photos at night, but we tried our best! It looks like electricity floating in the air!
水がとても綺麗だから蛍が集まるみたい。蛍を見に来ている人もいたよ。
I heard the fireflies gather here because the water is very clean. There were also other people in the area looking at fireflies too!
オーストラリアでは蛍は見たことがないけれど、グローワームは見たことがある！みんなはグローワームは見たことある？
オーストラリアにあるブルーマウンテンの洞窟で見られるよ！
I have never seen fireflies in Australia before, but I’ve seen glow worms! Have you seen glow worms before?
You can find them in caves in the Blue Mountains!
今度は高瀬舟に乗って蛍を見てみたいので、来年はほたる祭りがあるといいね！
I’d definitely like to ride on the boat to see the fireflies up close next time, so hopefully the festival will happen next year.
