We held the first Global Kaiyo tour! | グローバル海陽ツアーを開催したよ!
令和4年7月29日にグローバル海陽ツアーを開催したよ！
グローバル海陽ツアーというのは、海陽町の中学生と高校生が英語を使って徳島県内から集まってくれたALTたちを案内しながら海陽町を巡るイベントだよ。
生徒たちはお気に入りの場所を紹介し、ALTたちと一緒に色んなアクティビティをして過ごしたよ。

On the 29th of July, we held the first Global Kaiyo tour, an event where the local junior high school students and high school students use English to lead ALTs on a tour of Kaiyo using English.
A handful of ALTs from all over Tokushima Prefecture came down to Kaiyo, and the local students introduced their favorite spots in Kaiyo, as well as enjoyed many activities with the ALTs!

9:30 – イベント開始| Event start
朝、ALTや生徒たちが阿波海南文化村に集合し、グローバル海陽ツアーがスタート！
自己紹介やおしゃべり、ツアーへの楽しみで会場がとても賑やかだったよ。
All ALTs and students had gathered at the Awa Kainan Cultural Center in the morning for the start of the Global Kaiyo tour.
It was very lively with introductions and chatter and the place was buzzing with excitement for the tour!
10:25 – 海部川河口ツアー| Kaifu rivermouth tour
最初に向かったツアースポットは、海部川河口!
涼しい海風に吹かれ、生徒たちは海部川の魅力や生き物、松原海岸周辺を説明しながら、ALTたちを案内することができたよ。
The first tour spot on the list was the Kaifu rivermouth!
The students gave the ALTs a tour of the area, taking turns to describe the beautiful river, the wildlife and the surrounding areas such as Matsubara beach whilst enjoying the cool ocean breeze.
次の体験をするために阿波海南文化村へ移動。
Next, we moved to the Awa Kainan Cultural Center for a hands-on activity!
11:00 – 御守り染体験、博物館とランチ| Amulet-making experience, Museum and Lunch!
工芸館では、生徒たちとALTたちが御守り染体験に挑戦したよ。御札に願い事を書いて、好みの模様に染めたお守り袋の中に入れ、みんなそれぞれ自分だけの藍染め御守りを作ったんだ。
In the crafting hall, students and ALTs wrote wishes on a small polished tablet of timber, which was then sealed inside the amulet pouch dyed with their desired patterns to create their very own indigo-dyed amulets.
それから博物館を見学し、展示品や刀剣など、色々な歴史的で面白いものを目にする事もできたよ。
昼食は三幸館でおいしい半田そうめんを食べて過ごしたよ。
Students and ALTs also explored the museum, seeing the exhibitions and swords on display.
Everyone also enjoyed somen (cold noodles) for lunch at the San-Koh-Kan!
14:00 – DMV乗車 | Catching & riding the DMV
午後は阿波海南文化村からDMVに乗って、次の目的地の宍喰に向かったよ。
到着後、生徒たちはALTに鈴ヶ峰やヤッコソウなど、地元のものを紹介していたよ。
In the afternoon, we rode the DMV to go from the Awa Kainan Cultural Center to Shishikui station.
The students introduced to the ALTs the local area upon arriving, including Mt. Suzugamine and Yakkoso.
14:50 – 八坂神社ツアー| Yasaka Shrine tour
八坂神社では、生徒たちが神社の歴史や樹齢約300年の楠、神社で行われている行事について説明してくれたんだ。
At the Yasaka Shrine, students talked about the history of the shrine, the 300-year-old camphor tree as well as the annual events and functions that take place at the shrine.
It was now time for the final part of the tour, so we headed towards the beach.
いよいよツアーの最終盤！みんなでビーチへ向かったよ。
16:30 – スイカ割りとイベントフィナーレ| Suika wari and farewells
宍喰の大手海岸で、みんなで英語だけで指示をするスイカ割りで盛り上がったよ！
Everyone had fun with suika wari (splitting watermelons) in English on the beach at Shishikui!
一瞬「Left」と「Right」が分からなくなった子達もいたけど、何とか美味しいスイカを食べることができた！
イベントは終了の時間を迎えたので、最後に記念撮影をして、挨拶をしてお別れをしたよ。
We managed to eat some delicious watermelon despite being blindfolded and occasionally even confusing left and right!
After some final remarks and photos, it was time for the event to come to a close.
生徒や遠くから来たALTの皆さん、参加してくれてありがとう！！そしてイベントがスムーズに進むように協力してくれたスタッフの皆さんもありがとう！！
またこういうイベントができたらと思うので、楽しみにしてねー！
