ポップロボティクスBETA
Hi guys! My name is May and I’ve been living and working in Kaiyo for about six years.
みなさん、こんにちは！私はメイです。海陽町に住み、仕事をするようになって、約６年になります。
In March, we held a programming and robotics course in all English for elementary school students in Kaiyo! We called it POP Robotics BETA, and we met three times over the course of the month.
3月に、海陽町の小学生向けのプログラミングとロボティックスのコースを、英語だけで行いました。POP Robotics BETAというコースで、３回授業をしました。
We used simple robots made by the American company, VEX Robotics. The one we used is called VEX 123 and it is designed for hands-on, introductory programming classes.
VEX Roboticsというアメリカの会社が作った簡単なロボットを使いました。コースで使ったロボットはVEX 123というもので、実際に手を動かしてプログラミングを学ぶ入門クラス向けに作られたものです。
The students programmed the VEX robot to accomplish different tasks and solve problems, such as navigate a maze, or drive the robot to a treasure chest. The class was taught only using English, so it was difficult for students at first, but they tried hard to understand and completed the class goals successfully!
生徒たちは、VEXロボットをプログラミングして、迷路を進んだり、宝箱までロボットを走らせたりと、さまざまなタスクや問題を解決していきました。授業は英語だけでしましたから、生徒たちにとって最初は難しかったようですが、一所懸命聞いて解ろうとしていて、授業の目標を見事にクリアしました！
Because the BETA class was successful, we hope to continue the course again, so please look forward to it!
